The wolf is back!
The book sale of the year returns this December with over 4.5 million English, Malay and Chinese books on offer, at discounts up to a whopping 95%. The highly anticipated Big Bad Wolf (BBW) has been a mainstay on the Malaysian calendar since 2009, with bookworms coming from all around the country to take advantage of the 24 hour-a-day, 7-day reading carnival.
Fiction, non-fiction, brand new titles, classics and an extensive collection of children’s books, the fair stocks a wide range of books across all genres. Just make sure to get there as early as possible so you can grab what you’re after.
Books aren’t the only thing awaiting visitors at the BBW as the grounds will also host a multitude of on-site activities and experiences. A collaboration with Ejen Ali, the world-class Malaysian animated television series, and the video-streaming service Tonton, will take place to launch a range of children’s books.
There will also be exciting missions and challenges from Ejen Ali’s MATA HQ, a live reading performance by the Ejen Ali voice-over cast, Ejen Ali mascot meet-and-greet sessions, colouring and quiz contests, and promotions for Ejen Ali merchandise including back-to-school items, stationery and toys.
Look out for DIGI’s Cyberspace, an educational programme designed to promote internet safety for school children, while over at the Petrosains Star Lab you can learn about the moon, sun and stars in an inflatable dome.
If you work up an appetite, look out for the After You pop-up store! The delicious Thai dessert brand makes its debut in Malaysia and will be serving up ice kakigori and toast desserts. Meanwhile, Madeleine Cafe offers scrumptious cakes, and Coffex, freshly brewed cups of joe.
