Conceptualized and organized by not-for-profit environmental organization, EcoKnights, the Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival is Malaysia’s first and longest-running environmental film festival. One of the main goals of the festival is to foster a dialogue between various stakeholders, including governments, civil society organizations, and the scientific, creative and academic communities through audio-visual experiences. At the heart of it lies the aim to promote greater awareness about sustainability.
This year’s event will be held in Publika and other supporting venues around the Klang Valley and will see the extension from the typical three day event to a seven day event. Some of the highlights include The Green Market – a market place in Publika 60 NGOs, green entrepreneurs and their businesses, and social businesses; forums, workshops and talks; film screenings; a nature themed art exhibition and a variety of local and indigenous performances.
